Hands On-Location Model Photoshoot - James Wilkinson
I will be utilizing one of the studio spaces to do a photoshoot with a local professional model. We will cover posing your model, working with them, hair, makeup, and of course creative photo techniques.
Portait Editing Workflow - James Wilkinson
I will take the photos we made in the earlier sessions and edit them and show you my workflow.
The Economics of Ugly - Justin Peters
Car Free Day 2010 illustrated two Londons. In suburban London it was business as usual. Are we targeting the right ‘parkers’ and drivers or do we speak to the usual suspects? What are the subtle and not-so subtle signs of brown-belt decay and a darker future for London? I’ll attempt to touch on many of these issues as I show a rather amateurish collection of pictures taken on an average camera by an average photographer! Interested people should come with their passion for the City.
Film/Video and You! - London Short FIlm Showcase
LSFS has brought together a small panel of folks who thing that film and video is neat to have a discussion on why film is important, how to start out and where to get your film seen. If you are looking at dipping your toes in the film pool, this session is a must for you!
DSLR Cinematography - Edward Platero – Red Cat Film
Covering the basics on shooting video/film with your DSLR Camera
Backup strategies for photographers - Stuart Clark
Backup is an important and often overlooked part of photography. In this session we will look at current technologies and strategies the photographer should think about.
An Introduction To Lenses - Todd Dailey
“The lens is the photographer’s most important piece of equipment. Yet more people know the megapixel count of their camera (not important) than who know the focal length and aperture attributes of their lens (very important.)
This presentation will introduce photographers to the topic of camera lenses, helping them to make better decisions on what lens to use for the images they want to create. Specifics will include explaination of terms such as focal length and aperture, the pros and cons of zoom versus fixed lenses and how the choice of lens can greatly affect the image created when the shutter button is pressed.
Todd Dailey is the owner of Lens Lenders, a London company providing lens rentals to photographers across Canada.”
Avoiding thievery when traveling - Diane Richards
After I was robbed of a brand new Nikon D70 on the first day of a 16 day nature photography shoot in a wildlife sanctuary that left me without a camera, I canvassed all of my friends, did a lot of research on the net wrote an article for the Toronto Camera Club newslettter called “How to Travel with a Camera” so I have a few tips for anyone who wants to outwit the many thieves who know the difference between Nikon and Canon.
Who Can Speak at PhotoCamp London? Why You Can!

Types of Sessions and Presentations
Presentation: 5-30 minutes in a room of your peers. Help us all learn something new. The intelligence is in the room, discuss a topic that interests you and get everyone involved.
The Law of Two Feet
If at any time during our time together you find yourself in any situation where you are neither learning nor contributing, use your two feet. Go to some other place where you may learn and contribute.
Session Recording
As much fun as attending PhotoCamp is, there are some who can’t make it to the party for various reasons. As well, some people would love to grab an audio or video file of a session they were in, or one that was going on at the same time as one they were a part of. Please feel free to record the sessions and post them for public use!
Session Spaces
This year we are happy to bring you 2 lecture theatres and 2 studio spaces. The lecture theatres both git 40 people and the studio spaces are quite large. The first studio is indoor and will be available for time slotting closer to the date. The indoor studio has lots of power and internet connections for your equipment. Session holders will be required to bring their own equipment. The second studio space will be outdoors on the patio of the Convergences centre and its surrounding swamp like area. This space is clearly only available based upon the weather so will not be able to be booked until the day of.
As stated this is an unconference so session holders will be able to move your sessions around and add or remove sessions depending on the studio spaces availability. We hope you enjoy these new features this year!
